Designed to engage and challenge the more experienced advanced players. We will, of course, have fun- but the primary goal is to learn/improve your skills. Each session has a maximum of 20 players to keep our player-to-coach ratio low and allow for specific instruction and feedback.

Attend the ACADEMY lesson, then stay to play REC to practice your new and improved skills!

why academy?

Some of our regular GUAC girls from year one said that while they love the laid back vibes of a typical GUAC event, they are also looking for opportunities to level up their skills, get an intense workout, and be pushed outside of their comfort zone. At the same time, some high-level players and coaches in ATL told us they would like to help coach the next generation of female Ultimate players, but may not have the time needed to coach a whole school season. We thought it would make sense to try to connect these two communities… so high-level adult players and coaches… meet some young athletes that are serious about improving their game! Show them the way!

GUAC Academy for the ‘26-27 school year will be a trial run. Let’s give it a shot, try a few different formats, and we can make adjustments as we go!

Does this sound like you?

I want coaches to correct my technique.

I throw on target most of the time, and my catches are pretty dependable.

I like leaving a practice sweaty and tired.

I have played on a competitive High School and/or Club (YCC) team.

I throw regularly outside of practice.

If yes, then Academy is for you.
